Short version
63% of occupied homes in North Las Vegas are owner-occupied and 37% are rented, which is close enough to even that the first question is which you are. A landlord is generally responsible for a fixture in a tenancy; an owner is not. Housing there is 19% pre-1990, so a 1.6 gallon fixture is the likely one and age is rarely the explanation.

In North Las Vegas the housing is mostly newer — just 19% predates 1990 — and 63% of households are owner-occupiers.
What this site is
Tank and Bowl is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no work, we sell no fixtures, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.Who this page is for in North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas has 85,119 occupied homes, 63% of them owner-occupied. Which side of that you are on changes not just who pays but how quickly anything happens, which is why the tenant page is about reporting rather than repairing.

| Owner-occupied | 63% | ±1 pt | 53,284 |
| Rented | 37% | ±1 pt | 31,835 |
Each share is given with its 90% margin of error. Where that margin is wide, the figure is still the survey’s best estimate and is shown here, but this page will not build a sentence on it.

What the age of North Las Vegas’s housing suggests
With only 19% of homes built before 1990, North Las Vegas is a town of modern fixtures. EPA’s WaterSense label goes further than the standard at 1.28 gallons per flush.
The figure is about construction dates rather than what is bolted to the floor, but in a town this new the two are less likely to have diverged.

What is actually wrong with it
Work from the symptom rather than the fixture. Continuous running has a ten-minute test that settles it; water at the base is identified by when it appears rather than where; and a handle that does nothing is visible the moment the tank lid is off.
Ask which part was tested before the fixture was blamed. On a running toilet that means the dye test; on a leak at the base it means whether the flange was looked at. A quote to reset a toilet that does not mention the flange has not established why the last seal failed.
