Toilet Repair in Selma, NC
In Selma, about 55% of homes predate 1990 and roughly 30% of households rent. Both halves of this page apply to somebody here.
Short version
70% of occupied homes in Selma are owner-occupied and 30% are rented, which is close enough to even that the first question is which you are. A landlord is generally responsible for a fixture in a tenancy; an owner is not. At 55% pre-1990, the housing gives no strong steer on flush volume, which makes the tank label worth a look.

What the age of Selma’s housing suggests
55% of Selma’s 7,911 housing units were built before 1990. EPA puts pre-standard toilets at 3.5 to more than 5.0 gallons a flush against 1.6 for anything built to the standard.
In a town this evenly split the age of the house is a weak guide, and it is the age of the house rather than the toilet in any case.

What is actually wrong with it
The fault list is short. A running tank and a weak flush are both usually parts inside the tank. A leak at the base is the one that damages the building, and a fixture that rocks is the one that causes it.
Ask which part was tested before the fixture was blamed. On a running toilet that means the dye test; on a leak at the base it means whether the flange was looked at. A quote to reset a toilet that does not mention the flange has not established why the last seal failed.
