Toilet Repair in Eden, NC

In Eden, 78% of the housing was built before 1990. About 60% of households own their home and 40% rent, so this page has two readers.

Short version

Tenure in Eden is close to even, at 60% owner-occupied and 40% rented. Where a home is rented the fixture is usually the landlord's to repair, so the lease decides who arranges the work and who is billed for it. Housing there is 78% pre-1990, which dates the house rather than the fixture.

Tank and Bowl is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no work, we sell no fixtures, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

What the age of Eden’s housing suggests

Housing in Eden is mostly older than the standard: 78% of it went up before 1990. A toilet fitted when those homes were built used at least twice what a current one does.

Whether the original is still there is a different question, and the only way to settle it is to look at the fixture.

What is actually wrong with it

The fault list is short. A running tank and a weak flush are both usually parts inside the tank. A leak at the base is the one that damages the building, and a fixture that rocks is the one that causes it.

Ask which part was tested before the fixture was blamed. On a running toilet that means the dye test; on a leak at the base it means whether the flange was looked at. A quote to reset a toilet that does not mention the flange has not established why the last seal failed.
